It is not the politicians, the progressives, the conservatives, the far right, the far left, the rich, big business, the lobbies or the unions, it is the system, stupid!
I suggest to mainstream media and youtubers and rumblers, to hold events , discussion of imporyant isdies, like hovernment debt.
Invite to such discussion political and business perdonalities and experts, but also bring one or two ordinary citizens independent voters and perhaps small business owners who would let you, the other guests and the audience know what ordinary citizens, ordinary employees, small business owners, think about how the capitalist and political elites are managing most democracies (not interested in people from any totalitarian-authoritarian regime because all they say is propaganda or lies motivated by fear).
I suggest you also bring another special guest or two from Switzerland, one could be a politician from the left, one from the right, or perhaps just two ordinary Swiss taxpayers, or perhaps an independent expert, or perhaps a Swiss citizen originally from the US.
I think if you do this, the meetings would be enlightening for you, for the other guests, for the elites of other democracies and the general public, and thus help avoid another crazy ecplosion of anger like the one at the Halloween party for the elites held at Madame Guillotine’s place, as well as another episode of persecution/expulsion/killing of Jews, etc.
If the elites do not listen to the people, not because the people in the elite are bad people, but because we do not have the institutions and mechanisms to ensure the elites listen to the people and make decision in tune with the majority of ordinary citizens.
If the ordinary citizens do not have the powet and mechanisms to peacefully impose on the elites the will of the majority whenever the majority so decides, then it is inevitable we will repeat another episode of the anger of the people exploding in rational and irrational ways.
The Swiss model ensures peaceful evolution and peaceful handling of crisis.
This is so because the Swiss system ensures anger will never reach the ignition temperaure necessary to cause a violent social explosion.
The Swiss system is like a self regulating mechanism; when the people are concerned about ANY law, policy or isssue, any action or inaction by government or business, then any citizen or group of citizens can initiate the process to bring about a democratic decision by the people.
For example, if the US had the Swiss system, the issue of government debt.
If politicians can not tackle if for (understandable) electoral reasons, the people could make the decision themselves, even specifying how to reduce the debt and prevent future excess debt.
This means that if Swiss citizens see the debt is becoming too high and politicians seem unable to do what needs to be done, the Swiss people are not reduce to blaming the politicians and see that no matter who is in power the debt continues to be excessive, what the Swiss people do, instead of blaming politicians, the elites, etc., the Swiss people get a binding referemdum under way and themselves decide, and not even the highest court in the land can overturn the decision.
In the Swiss system it would as irrational to blame politicians for the government debt (or anything else) as it would be for you to get angry at the hotel because the water is too hot in the shower when all you have to do is turn the temperature down yourself.
In fact, that is what the Swiss people did a few decafes ago to fix the government debt for good.
