To the citizens these and other countries: Japan Greece Italy France Spain China Portugal India Austria Hungary Israel Germany United Kingdom Finland

You complain about irresponsible politicians for obvius reasons, one of them is excessive government debt.

The government debt to GDP ratio is an important indicator of government responsibility, or lack of it, because it shows how much your government spend in relation to its income, just like your debt to income ratio shows your responsibility.

Now, most people in your country are financially responsible, most likely you are financially responsible, but domething happens in your country when government debt becomes excessive that turns citizens who individually they behave financially responsible, that collectively they elect, in free and fair elections, or even dictators who claim to be the good shepperds of the flock, that they indebt their governments as if they drunk something that impairs them beyond their ability to tell right from wrong.

Perhaps even more surprising is that cultures whose i dividuals have a reputation for financial responsibility, their governments are pretty irresponsible.

After the following data I will give you what I see as the cause of financially responsible and financially irresponsible governments.

Japan ~250%

Greece — ~165–170%

Italy — ~135–140%

France — ~110–112%

Spain — ~105–108%

Belgium — ~105%

China ~80–100%

Portugal — ~95–100%

India ~80–85%

Austria — ~80–85%

Hungary — ~75–80%

Israel ~60–65%

Germany — ~60–65%

United Kingdom — ~95%

Finland — ~75%

Poland — ~55–60%

Netherlands — ~44–45%

Sweden — ~30–35%

Denmark — ~30%

Norway — ~40%

Switzerland — ~15–40% (depending on definition.

People often say that the Northern European countries and the Netherlands have low debt because they have a “tradition of frugality” and are countries with large uniculture, uni language, unireligion majorities but other countries are like that but are financially not responsible, such is the of Japan, Greece, France.

Other countries, like China a culturally and ethnically dominated by one culture and ethnic group and with a dictatorial government in power where politicians do not have to run for election and “buy votes” with expensive promises.

Most of the above countries are democracies but the differences are huge.

The Japanese have a reputation for being hard working and frugal people and fairly homogeneous yet, their government debt the highest.

But there is one country who should be a mess. It should be financially irresponsible, have all sorts conflicts and friction because of culture, ethnicity, language and even religion but it has very low government debt, low taxes, the highest political stability.

That country is constituted by four distinct cultural and language groups and two major religions. Furthermore, that country does not practice multiculturalism within is many states, most of its states are unilingual and unicultural; if you live in one state of one language and you want to work in another state with different language you will have to learn that language, there is no national language that most citicens speak and use as lingua franca.

Furthermore, of the four major cultures, three of them share language and culture and borders with three major countries each of them has much highr government debt.

That country with among the lowest, if not the lowest, givernment debt is Switzerland.

The cause? In my opinion they are two key ones:

Any citizen, group, union, association, political party (even if it does not have elected representatives) can force a referendum on any local, state ir federal law, issue, policy or to amend the constitution by collecting between 1% to 3% (depending on issue and jurisdiction) of signatures of voters.

The results of such referendums are binding on politicians and not even the highest court in the land can invalidate such referendums.

Besides such citizen power, the country is very decentralized financial and fiscal responsibility, for example, most taxes are collected by state and local government, not the national government.

I am sure you figured out which country I am talking about.

I suggest you study their system and demand it for your town, state, province and nation. Stop complaining, do something!

Here is a standardized, cross-country comparison of general government gross debt-to-GDP ratios (approx. 2025–2026 levels). This is the measure used by the IMF/OECD for international comparison.
🌍 Government Debt-to-GDP (Major Countries)
🔴 Very high debt (>100% of GDP)
🇯🇵 Japan — ~250–260%
🇮🇹 Italy — ~135–140%
🇺🇸 United States — ~120–125%
🇫🇷 France — ~110–112%
🇬🇷 Greece — ~165–170%
🇪🇸 Spain — ~105–108%
🇨🇦 Canada — ~105–110% (general government estimate varies by method)
🟠 High debt (70–100%)
🇬🇧 United Kingdom — ~95–100%
🇧🇪 Belgium — ~100–105%
🇵🇹 Portugal — ~95–100%
🇮🇳 India — ~80–85%
🇨🇳 China — ~80–100% (wide estimate due to local government debt opacity)
🇦🇹 Austria — ~80–85%
🇫🇮 Finland — ~75–80%
🇭🇺 Hungary — ~75–80%
🇮🇱 Israel — ~60–65% (upper-middle tier)
🟡 Medium debt (50–70%)
🇩🇪 Germany — ~60–65%
🇵🇱 Poland — ~55–60%
🇿🇦 South Africa — ~75% (often classified upper-medium to high depending on cutoff)
🟢 Low debt (<50%) 🇳🇱 Netherlands — ~44–45% 🇸🇪 Sweden — ~30–35% 🇩🇰 Denmark — ~30% 🇳🇴 Norway — ~40% (but offset by sovereign wealth fund) 🇨🇭 Switzerland — ~30–40% (general government; federal-only is lower ~15–20%) 🇷🇺 Russia — ~15–20% (very low gross debt, but sanctions/financing structure matters) 🧭 Big global patterns 1. Advanced economies split into two camps Very high debt: Japan, US, France, Italy, UK Low/moderate debt: Germany, Nordics, Switzerland, Netherlands 2. Emerging economies are mixed India: high but domestically financed China: structurally complex and rising Russia: low formal debt, different constraints 3. Outliers 🇯🇵 Japan = extreme outlier (domestic savings system) 🇬🇷 Greece = legacy crisis debt 🇨🇭 Switzerland / Nordics = structural fiscal discipline ⚠️ Important interpretation note These numbers are not all equally “clean” in composition: Europe = highly standardized (Eurostat) US/Japan = well-defined but structurally different fiscal systems China = partially estimated due to off-balance-sheet local government financing India = federal + state consolidation varies slightly by source If you want, I can also: Rank all countries strictly 1 → 50 Show debt interest burden (more important than debt levels) Or compare net debt (after assets like Norway’s sovereign wealth fund) which changes the picture a lot.

Stop complaining, peoples on the Left, Right and Center! Do something!, do what the Swiss did more than 150 years ago !

Stop complaining Tucker and Kelly and the The Young Turks and Immy Dore and David Packman, and Erik and Brett Weinstein and Piers Morgan, and Joe Rogan and many others !, do something !

Do not blame Netanyahu, do not bkame the Jewish lobby, do not blame

“donors” to electoral campaigns, do not blame the lobbies of big pharma, big farm, big food processors, big weapons , big union, big business, rich people, big insurance, big health, big environmentalists, Socialists or Capitalists when the ekected pikiticians of your country, your state, your province, your city or your town do not do what the plural majority of voters want, do not blame the poluticians either, blame yourself, the ordinary voter on the Left, Right and center because you deceive yourself by believing you live in a democracy when you do not.

Blame yourself also for not demanding real democracy. In real democracy politicians and pokitical parties do not exist, even elected poluticians do not exist, what exist are executives, technocrats ibdividually elected by the people to carry out the will of the people, along with liow level oermanent government emplioyees trained to carry out the will if the people.

Those elected executive rechnocrats will carry out the will of the people as expressed by binding referendums on all major issues such government budgets, health care, education, publix works, taxation levels, abortion, war, etc.

In a true democracy the people can put to a binding referendum any issue, any proposal that 1% of registered voters sign up for it to go to binding referendum.

In other words, the lobbies will have to lobby the votera so that the voters decude alobg the lines the lobby wants because the voters decide it is good for a city, a province, a state or the whoke nation.

For Tucker and others to criticise Netanyaho, Israel, the Jewish lobby, or any lobby is as irrational for a sick person not to undergo the surgery he or she needs to fix her broken arm when it is his or hee decision to agree.

Citizens have the power to fix their broken politics, all they have to demand, as citizebs, not as voters on the Right, the Left, the exteme Right or Left, or center, a change in rhe way all major issues are decided.

The change will be to have the people directly decide, not the pokiticians controlled by thid or that lobby.

Get of your collective asses, stop complaining!

Message for Mr Metaxas, the YouTuber and other believers, like Christians and Communists

Dear Metaxas: It is false that Chrustianity leads to liberty;

Fact, before the Renaissance Christianity was very intolerant of liberty, religious or pilitical. The repeated persecution of Jews all over Europe for religious reasobs is proof.

The Christian lands of Europe never produced democracy, not a single European country produced democracy when while Christianity was politically dominant.

Democracy and liberty, including luberty to think, does nit come from Chrustianity it comes from Ancuent Greej thought that precedes Christ by some 500 years and Chrustian Europe by more than 800 years, yet the Greeks had liberty of thought and democracy.

The Greeks never had the irrational idea that there are absolute ethical truths or orher absolute truths handed over to humans by anybody.

This is why the Greejs belueved in religious freedom and did not impose their religious beliefs on other ancient peoples like Jews, Egyptians, Persians or Indians, even after they cobquered them, even after the Greeks had lost their denocracies.

Liberty came back to Europe not because of Christianity, which like all “absolute truth” religions, opposes and can not comprehend liberty of thought.

That is why there have been religious wars even among the Chrustians themselves.

That is why Christian Catholics and Christian Protestants often killed each other for having different beliefs, that is why the Chrjstian Inquisition killed Jewa and practically killed Galileo and others, that is why Christian Calvinists burned Servet to death for disagreeing on the Holy Trinity.
History shows that Jews and Moslens are no better when religion rules..

Liberty of thought came to Europe when the Italians rediscovered the Greeks and sparked the Renaissance that led to the Enlightenment, the return of democracy, rule of law and the liberty to use Reason and ovservation, not faith, not holy books, no god to understand ourselves, nature, the universe.

In time, all the peopkes of the peoples of the World are “converting” to Greco-European thought and keeping religion to the head of the believer.

No, liberty does not come from Christianity or any other relugion. It comes from the Ancient Greeks who never allowed their gods to tell Greeks what to believe or how to live, or send hunans any revealed or prophets.

By the way, Marxism, Communism, Socialism are exactly like Chistianity, Judaism and Islam, Marxism and the rest are ‘ absolute truths but without god, no wonder they conmit far worse crimes.

Metaxas is a Greek name, if you go back to Protagoras and Democritus you will be far ahead of Chrustianity in liberty ans a lot more.

Let us stop feeling irrational guilt, the whole World is Western, be proud

Dear World: Let us face reality, the whole World is gradually joining Western civilisation.

And no, Western civilisation is not Christian, Christianity is the majority religion, Western civilisation is the continuation of Greek civilisation, the civilisation that continued the process of civilizing the rest of Europe when in the Middle Ages, some Italians came across Greek Thought and clicked.

The result was Galileo, Kepler, Copernicus, Servet and others who directly and indirectly challenge the Theo-centric and Earth-centric beliefs of the Chistians, the Jews and Moslem and Hindus and every other religion.

The hard truth is that while Christian thought dominated Europe, Europe remained backward.

It could not be otherwise because religion put god and his “absolute truths” about everything in control of human life and thus fixed and backward.

It can not be otherwise. For example, if disease, or the birth of a deformed baby is punishment from god, why think about rational causes?

Unfortunately, when the Greeks were conquered by the totalitarian Macedonians 2400 years ago ( yes, those of Alexander the Great) democracy, which is freedom of thought, died and no other people, including the Macedonian conquerors, the Jews, the Persians, the Egyptians were willing or able to assimilate the concept of a human-centered World, they all found more comforting a god- centered World. Then came the Christians whose ideas were found by the people of the Roman Empire far more comforting than Grerk Reason.

The Romans were heavily influenced by Greek thought but never assimilated freedom of thought, the immense curiosity of the Greeks about everything or the anility of Greek Reason to observe and understand through logic, not through god everything wirhin humans, nature, animals, plants and the whole universe.

Fortunately the Italians of the Middle Ages resurrected Greek Reason and the rest is history.

European religious authorities, Protestant, Catholic and Jewish started to lose ground to Reason. Today in the countries of Europe where Reason and its result, science, have advanced the most, most people have set god aside.

Some, like the Socialists and Communists are actively against god which makes as little sense as relying on god to rule our lives and explain the Universe.

Anyway, with the Renaissance of Galileo, Copernicus and others reached the same conclusion that Aristarcus of Samos reached 2400 years ago, that the Earth rotated around tge Sun, not the other way around. Europeans started to think for themselves again. Observation and Reason started to push god, faith, religion, to the sidelines.

Then came the European Enlightenment and the partial return of Greek democracy.

I say partial because even today, the only country that comes close, not fully, to ancient Greek democracies is Switzerland. Switzerland is the only country where you can say that in spite of the elected politicians (which real democracy does not have), one could say that Switzerland is a real democracy because the people are the final executive and legislative authority over any law or decision made by the elected politicians.

To the Greeks, and to the Swiss, what they have in France, Canada, US, UK, Sweden, Japan, etc., would not be considered democracies but elected aristocracies (often controlled by the money oligarchs who control political campaigns).

The science and rechnology of the West, which the direct result of belief in humans, in our ability to observe and reason, along with the political, social, economic, legal ad administrative ideas of the West have spread to the World and caused the most capable societies to catch up with the West.

In the process they had to ditch, like the Europeans did earlier, the life centered in religion, divine kings and emperors, etc.

Yes, some Europeans and others could not resist embracing Marxism and derivatives, psychologically, religions without god.

Today, Japanese, Chinese, and other advanced countries are part of Western civilisation, they live like people in the West; same science, same tools and appliances, same school education. They keep their languages, foods and folk traditions, and that is good, their daily lives are Western.

Tucker Carlson lost his mind in Gaza to irrational antisemutism

Tucker has lost his mind. He has become a demagogue. What does f word used by Trump have to do with Easter morning. Religion and politics are separate things.

It is gross to speak hoq Trump does but it has nothing to do with Christianity, or even most Moslems.

Tucker’s brain has been taken over by irrational antisemitism. He also has become anti American and anti Arab and anti moderate Moslems; it is obvious Iran is a danger for every neighbour and even for far away places who need oil to survive, not just the Jews.

Who the hell is Iran to stop the oil flow to countries who have nothing to do with Iran.

The hard truth is that the nukes and constant threats and attacks by Iran and its proxies to Israel, Arab states, etc., caused the war.

The Ayatollahs must go, every new threat they make, every rocket they launch towards Israel and the Arabs, every ship they block or attack is another reason to eliminate the regime ASAP.

Even if they destroy water plants of the Arabs, they still have to go now. Just imagine life in the Middle East for all countries, not just Israel if Iran has nukes.

Israel was deeply wrong in Gaza by killing so many innocent, but on Iran, Israel is 100% morally right.

Tucker lost his mind. All he should do is push the Swiss system, in it the voters directly, democratically, would decide the degree and type of support for Israel and on attacking Iran, not Trump, not the politicians.

But I suspect Carlson is not a real democrat but another elitist like all religious people and Marxists and Fascists, all are convinced that the peophets, their messiahs, their holy books have The One Truth to guide humans. Yes, Marxism is exactly like a fanatical religion; Prophet Marx wrote the holy book which, among other things it mandates the elimination of infidels, the capitalists.

Tucker is contributing to undermining America by increasing polarisation and antisemitism.

If he wants to prevent excessive influence by lobbies, ALL of them he should push to update the US Constitution, with the Swiss amendment, Jews should too because, as reality shows, under the current constitution antisemitism is booming and brings grave danger to Jews and Israel, for obvious reasons.

Canada’s Polievre is right, Canada needs the Swiss system (but he will get cold feet if he wins the next election), and so does the US, the UK, Italy, Israel, Iran and the rest.

All countries need the Swiss system, let the people vote to decide issues, voting to elect representatives is not enough.

Let the people grow up and take responsibility for all key policies and laws.

In my opinion, the Europeans banning US flights are suicidal, but the people should decide that, not politicians.

Europe needs a deep political reset and feel proud of being Europe again; the peoples who produced the amazing civilisation that is civilizing the whole World; even the Jews, Chinese, Indians, etc., have accepted European thinking.

Trump, Farage, Orban, etc., can not fix the West, the people of the West have to fix the West

By the way, European civilisation is not Judeo Christian at all, it is Greek. It is the logical continuation of Greek civilisation. The traditional religion is what is JudeoChristian. Remember the Church did not like the Renaissance of Greek thought, did not like democracy. In fact, the Church tried to kill Galileo and all freedom of thought with the Inquisition.

The JudeoChristian religion opposed rational understanding of life and the Universe. Is was the Italians who connected with Ancient Greek and Roman reason who forced JudeoChristianity and indirectly all other religions, into retreat, universal inexorable total retreat, not with violence, like the crazed Marxists do, but with reason and the inevitable advances of science.

The time has come to say a friendly good bye to all religions, all based on magical beliefs, and say hello, finally!, to humam Reason.

One important first step would be for the peoples of the World to decide they do not need kings, Ayatollahs, Popes, Rabbis, Priests and any divine scriptures, General Secretaries of Communist Parties and their insane Marxist anti-religion religion, to decide what is right and wrong, to govern ourselves, to understand life and the Universe, all we need is reason.

It is humam reason that improves the lives of humans, not any religion;

The wheel,

Farming,

Treated water,

and on and on.

Human brains improve human life, not gods, holy books, prophets, priests, rabbies, not magical beliefs in Gardens of Eden, Heaven, the Devil and on and on.

All ordinary humans can take a huge step forward; demand to be masters of their communities and nations. This means putting the voters in charge, not ant leaders, elected or not.

That is the Ancient Greece system of government, the people hold the power to make the final decision on ANY issue, after respectful debate of proposal and decision by majority vote; not the king, not the Communist or Fascist dictator, not even the elected politicians.

In a real democracy, elected politicians carry out the will of the people, they do not lead or guide the people.

The only modern country that measures up to real democracy is Switzerland. In Switzerland the people in the town, the city, the canton (state or region) and at the national federal level are the final authority on any political or economic issue, not the executive, not the legislative, no even the judges of the highest court in the land.

So to fix the West ( and human societies all over) we all need rhe Swiss system.

Canada’s opposition leader, Polievre, is right, Canada needs the Swiss system, but so does the US and ALL other democracies, even the Scandinavians.

To Anna Kasparian and others forced into antisemitism by the US Constitution and by politicians

To Ana Kasparian and others turned into antisemites by the US Constitution and US laws.
You are irrational. You are right criticizing the abomination of Israel in Gaza but Israel is 100% right in going after the Ayatollahs.

Trump is right too going after them because they are a danger also to all its neighbours and to essential energy supplies. Sure, they are blocking Hormuz now but do you doubt what they would do to oil supplies and to the oil industry of the neighbours if they have nukes? I tell you what they would do, they would blackmail the World.

The hard trutth dear Anna is that the regime has to go, hell, even its Moslem neighbours are so scares of Iran that they have asked for US military bases in their territories!

They are more scared of Iran than Israel is because they are militarily weaker than Israel. In extremis, Israal can nuke Iran, which they do not.

Do you have any doubt the Ayatollahs would nuke Israel to eradicate it, even if Israel nukes them back and kills millions of Iranians? For them it would be a colossal success to destroy Israel.

You are right too in criticising the US Jewish lobby but they do what they are legally allowed to do. Yes, the violate the spirit of democracy, that the will of the majoriry, not the will of any minority should prevail.

But all other lobbies violate the spirit of democracy and can be rationally argued that, at least together, and some even individually, cause far more harm to the lives of Americans and kill more of them than helping Israel does.

I am thinking of the lobbies of big pharma, big farm, big food, big health, big insurance, big banks, big finance, big weapons, etc.

You should criticize much more the US Constitution and the insane legislators and insane US Supreme Court.

This is why:

The US Constitution puts too much power in the hands of politicians. In fact it places essentially all legislative and executive power in their hands.

Whatever power it does not place in their hands it places in the hands of judges, in those of the Supreme Court and other judges.

It also places in the hands of politicians the selection and appointment of judges

The Constitution also allows insane practices like birthright citizenship, which has given rise to a whole travel industry.

The Supreme Court, in a completely insane decision, also allows unlimited spending in US elections. The obvious and predictable cobsequence is that it handed control of the results of US elections to the point that no candidate can mount a campaign for any election without big money from somewhere. Without money he will not be heard and attack ads will destroy his/her campaign.

I do think like you that the US should not have supported Israel’s actions in Gaza because it can not be justified if we respect life, to kill tens of thousands of innocents just because some Hamas are among them. It is like killing flies with artillery; the collateral damage is unacceptable.

Yes, Hamas are murderers that should be killed but during the Gaza occupation, they presented no danger to Israelis, excepto the occupying soldies, but even that was minima and certainly you can not justify the inhuma actions of the Israelis.

You are also right denouncing the abuses of Palestinians by sokdiers and “settlers” in the West Bank. But Iran does present, unlike Hamas, an existencial threat to Israel, particularly if it has nukes. Hamas would love to be an existencial threat too, but lacks the means.

Israel, in spite of its abuses in Gaza and West Bank, wants to exist and, for now, most people in the US and the West, perhaps even around the World, support the survival of Israel, but that could change if the Israelis and Jews supporting it, continue their legal but antidemocracy lobbying efforts.

My suggestion to you is to stop being a foaming at the mouth antisemite. Yes, you are an antisemite because you oppose the will of most semites (meaning Jews). Most Israelis and the most representative Jewish organisations in the US support what Israel did in Gaza and what it does in the West Bank.

I think you should be able to distinguish the immorality of Israel in Gaza from the morality of attacking Iran.

But there is sonething much more imoortant and effective you could do so that neither the politicians nor the lobbies can make decisions, pass laws, amend the Constitution to do what they think is right for the country, for themselves and the lobbies and also force all lobbies to present their arguments and get the support of most Americans. What you should do is work your butt off to bring to America what I call, “The Swiss Amendment”.

Such amendment transfer final decision making powers over any policy, executive decision, treaty, regulation and contents of the Constitition to the voters directly.

A critical provision is that prohibits that the Swiss Supreme Court even examine any decision by the people. In the Swiss system, any decision made by the people in a referendum is constitutional, only another referendum by the people can overturn it.

In the Swiss system the people have absokute and final power to stop or throw away any decision by politicians and also the power to force politicians to pass new laws, change the constitution, etc.

Very important is that any Swiss citizen or group of citizens or organisation can initiate the process of the referendum, the government can not.

For example, in the US any group of Americans could initiate the process to hold a referendum on the degree of support of all sorts that the US should allocate to Israel and the American voters would decide and the decision would be final until another referendum decides differently.

This system takes care of any attempt by any lobby or politician to ignore or even go against the will of the majority. It brings unmatched political stability and responsible and responsive government to Swiss towns, cantons and to the federal goverment.
