My thoughts on Professir Meirsheimer, Professor Sachs, Prime Minister Modi, Russia, China and Trump. I am amazed that Professor Meirsheimer, along with Professor Sachs and a few more articulate but devoid of common sense souls in the tallk circuit, criticize the West “for failing to adjust to a multipolar world” meaning adjusting to the Russian and Chinese dictatorships who resent the West, are scared if fredom, oppress their own citizens and are a danger to its neighbours. They also criticise the West for “pushing NATO East”.
At least least professor Meisheimer proposes the US shoukd not adjust to the CCP taking over Taiwan which lunatic Professor Sacks basically does.
I wonder if this two devout anti West souls would suggest that the UK and France failed to adjust to a multipolar Europe with Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy.
NATO expanded East because the nations around Russia are scared of Russia not because the West has an irrational hate of Russia. The West would love to carry on doing business with Russia as it does with South Korea or Thailand or any other country which is not paranoid. If NATO was avancing East without justification, howcome two neutral countries like Sweden and Finland decided to join NATO as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, instead of saying NATO provoked Russia?
With respect to China; are not China’s neighbours like India, Vietnam, Philippines, Japan, Taiwan, etc., scared of China?
What these two articulate jerks should be saying is criticise the West for encouraging Putin with weak contaiment and helping China grow into a deadly enemy with crazy Kissinger and Nixon opening of markets to China.
We have many of this West haters, which I suspect are Marxists usind the word democracy for cover. We should relentlessly criticize people like them because they are our enemies within and haters of democracy. We should not forget Professor Sachs was advisor to the Soviet Union and Meirsheimer regularly gives talks in China. You can be shure he is allowed to because his talks help the CCP, doubt he criticises China’s expansionist policies that scare neiggbours or the “reeducation” of the Uyghurs.
On a side note; India is right in getting annoyed at Trump for his tariffs to pressure it to stop buying Russian oil. Trump should have proposed a deal, he missed the opportunity for one. He should have said: “if you stop buying Russian oil the US will help India with… for example, modernize its military to fight China by land, air and sea, reducing tariffs to India’s goods and services, help India explore the seabed for oil and minerals, help India become a strategic manufacturer, etc.
But Modi also makes a mistake with his move to join China in that recent humiliating meeting with Xi and Putin. What is the purpose of helping your enemy because you are annoyed at your ally? It is lunacy. Instead, Modi should made a counterproposal to Trump, like: we will stop buying Russian oil if…
We need the Swiss political system; the vast majority of citizens of most countries are responsible as they show in their daily lived with their families, neighbours, at work, paying their taxes, paying their mortgages, etc., the people must be the final authority over any law, policy and contents of the constitution. Elected legislators and elected executives must have the role of carrying out the will of the people, not “guiding” the people with demagoguery. This applies to Trump, to all governors and mayors, to Starmer, Macron, Meloni, Merz, Ishiba, etc. That is what the Swiss system is about and that is why Switzerland is, by far, the most democratic, best governed country in the World. Non democracies are all abominations; China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Cuba, etc.
Corrupt democracies too and right now, most are corrupt by excessive power in the hands of politicians and pressure groups.
