To Ana Kasparian and others turned into antisemites by the US Constitution and US laws.
You are irrational. You are right criticizing the abomination of Israel in Gaza but Israel is 100% right in going after the Ayatollahs.
Trump is right too going after them because they are a danger also to all its neighbours and to essential energy supplies. Sure, they are blocking Hormuz now but do you doubt what they would do to oil supplies and to the oil industry of the neighbours if they have nukes? I tell you what they would do, they would blackmail the World.
The hard trutth dear Anna is that the regime has to go, hell, even its Moslem neighbours are so scares of Iran that they have asked for US military bases in their territories!
They are more scared of Iran than Israel is because they are militarily weaker than Israel. In extremis, Israal can nuke Iran, which they do not.
Do you have any doubt the Ayatollahs would nuke Israel to eradicate it, even if Israel nukes them back and kills millions of Iranians? For them it would be a colossal success to destroy Israel.
You are right too in criticising the US Jewish lobby but they do what they are legally allowed to do. Yes, the violate the spirit of democracy, that the will of the majoriry, not the will of any minority should prevail.
But all other lobbies violate the spirit of democracy and can be rationally argued that, at least together, and some even individually, cause far more harm to the lives of Americans and kill more of them than helping Israel does.
I am thinking of the lobbies of big pharma, big farm, big food, big health, big insurance, big banks, big finance, big weapons, etc.
You should criticize much more the US Constitution and the insane legislators and insane US Supreme Court.
This is why:
The US Constitution puts too much power in the hands of politicians. In fact it places essentially all legislative and executive power in their hands.
Whatever power it does not place in their hands it places in the hands of judges, in those of the Supreme Court and other judges.
It also places in the hands of politicians the selection and appointment of judges
The Constitution also allows insane practices like birthright citizenship, which has given rise to a whole travel industry.
The Supreme Court, in a completely insane decision, also allows unlimited spending in US elections. The obvious and predictable cobsequence is that it handed control of the results of US elections to the point that no candidate can mount a campaign for any election without big money from somewhere. Without money he will not be heard and attack ads will destroy his/her campaign.
I do think like you that the US should not have supported Israel’s actions in Gaza because it can not be justified if we respect life, to kill tens of thousands of innocents just because some Hamas are among them. It is like killing flies with artillery; the collateral damage is unacceptable.
Yes, Hamas are murderers that should be killed but during the Gaza occupation, they presented no danger to Israelis, excepto the occupying soldies, but even that was minima and certainly you can not justify the inhuma actions of the Israelis.
You are also right denouncing the abuses of Palestinians by sokdiers and “settlers” in the West Bank. But Iran does present, unlike Hamas, an existencial threat to Israel, particularly if it has nukes. Hamas would love to be an existencial threat too, but lacks the means.
Israel, in spite of its abuses in Gaza and West Bank, wants to exist and, for now, most people in the US and the West, perhaps even around the World, support the survival of Israel, but that could change if the Israelis and Jews supporting it, continue their legal but antidemocracy lobbying efforts.
My suggestion to you is to stop being a foaming at the mouth antisemite. Yes, you are an antisemite because you oppose the will of most semites (meaning Jews). Most Israelis and the most representative Jewish organisations in the US support what Israel did in Gaza and what it does in the West Bank.
I think you should be able to distinguish the immorality of Israel in Gaza from the morality of attacking Iran.
But there is sonething much more imoortant and effective you could do so that neither the politicians nor the lobbies can make decisions, pass laws, amend the Constitution to do what they think is right for the country, for themselves and the lobbies and also force all lobbies to present their arguments and get the support of most Americans. What you should do is work your butt off to bring to America what I call, “The Swiss Amendment”.
Such amendment transfer final decision making powers over any policy, executive decision, treaty, regulation and contents of the Constitition to the voters directly.
A critical provision is that prohibits that the Swiss Supreme Court even examine any decision by the people. In the Swiss system, any decision made by the people in a referendum is constitutional, only another referendum by the people can overturn it.
In the Swiss system the people have absokute and final power to stop or throw away any decision by politicians and also the power to force politicians to pass new laws, change the constitution, etc.
Very important is that any Swiss citizen or group of citizens or organisation can initiate the process of the referendum, the government can not.
For example, in the US any group of Americans could initiate the process to hold a referendum on the degree of support of all sorts that the US should allocate to Israel and the American voters would decide and the decision would be final until another referendum decides differently.
This system takes care of any attempt by any lobby or politician to ignore or even go against the will of the majority. It brings unmatched political stability and responsible and responsive government to Swiss towns, cantons and to the federal goverment.
