Agree with much of what Sarah Paine says in her interview in @decodinggeopoliticspodcast, but for one thing; Christian values are not the foundation of our civilisation. Christianity, never mind Jesus nice words, is a totalitarian concept, like Judaism, Islam, Communism and Nazional Socialism (Nazional Communism). Of course, the religions are not usually as bad as the political movements, but they have pretty killing moments.
Each is totalitarian because each rest on the irrational idea that each has The Truth (the answer to all all humanities problems) and that the answer is psychological (spiritual), which is absurd.

It is because of that belief each has that they hate each other and any other religion; to the Christian believer to the Jewish believer, to the Moslem believer, to the Communist believer to the Naxi believer, all other believers are wrong and/or evil.

The Western Europeans civilized themselves and European Jews with the Greeks, and did the same to the whole World. The job not finished, but almost there. The Chinese dumping the CCP will be a big leap forward.

Chrisianity did not bring to the West, to the World, the Renaissance or the Enlightenment, those happened when Europeans came across Greek Reason and Freedom, the rest is history.

Christianity did not bring to the Romans and the rest freedom, innovation of prosperity, it brough the Dark Ages and the Inquisition

European Christians recivilized themselves to the Greek values of freedom of thought (instead of submission to holy books, dogma, God, etc.)

All of Western civilisation is the continuation of the Greek Reason that our ancestors of the Renaissance had the good sense to recognize.

We still have not caugjt up fully to the Greeks, otherwise religion woulf be far less important by now, and we would have real democracy in which people directly, not elected officials, would make the key decisions.

What we have are elected aristocracies.

Elected aristocracy is a huge step forward from theocravy, divine kings, führers, popes, imans, ayatollahs, general secretaries of the communist party or assorted dictators, but it is not democracy.

The only modern country that could claim to be a real democracy is Switzerland.

Inspired by the Swiss, the Chinese of Taiwan and the Spanish of Uruguy have taken steps in the same direction.

In the US, California and a number of other US states took steps in the same direction, unfortunstely nothing was done at the federal level, and the US, like all other so-called democracies, is stuck with and by elected aristocracy, and demential electoral laws that hand power over politicians to the big donors.

Another thing we would not have if we had caught up to the Greeks fully, would be political parties who, in fact, are similar to religions, each with its preconceived idea of how to deal with any issue; instead of just Reason and Facts.

What humanity needs is Reason and Facts, not ideologies; how should we orgamize ourselves democratically, how to apply Reason to disease, to death, to hygiene, to alleviate suffering, how to grow food, how to make life safer and more comfortable, etc., no by irrational preconceived “solutions”.

It is the Greeks who, by reasoning and by pushing the gods aside, by having gods with the good sense of not sending down prophets or holy books that the ancient Greeks towered above all other peoples on Earth and reset humanity.

While China has joined Western civilisation and its science and technology, still is stuck in “religious” political thought, this time in the form of official Atheism who can not tolerate other beliefs.

To make matters worse, the Chinese of the mainlanf are being indoctrinated with the idea that they are superior, some even talk of racial superiority. The fact is China fell way behind the West all by themselves.

Of course, the Chinese people have the capacity of being number one, but it will be because they joined Greek thought.

The Chinese of Taiwan demonstrate they are capable of producing great prosperity and great democracy. Those in the mainland are stuck in totalitatian Nazional Socialism, one of the craziest ideas the West ever produced.

If China does not ditch the Creepy Communist Party, there will be a war that China will lose for obvious readons. It will deliver to itself the humiliation it needs to become a great free country.

Watching the Jimmy Dore Show. Scott Ritter and other shows, on the right and the left, it is hard not to conclude that the people running those shows are not dominated by JDS (Jewish Derangement Syndrome), self hate and hate of the West or on the take from the CCP (Creepy Communist Party) and others.

They shoot in all directions against the US and the West and Israel. If they shooted at Israel on Gaza or at Trump for his threat of invading Iceland, it could de understood but they never shoot in the direction of the likes of China, Iran, Russia or Cuba, or the deranged Islamist Supremacists.

This is the latest example:
It is obvious the protests in Iran are massive but Jimmy Dore and others, instead of criticizing the deranged totalitarian Ayatollahs he comes up with the idea the protests are engineered by Israel and the US, by the Mossad and the CIA.

Even if the Mossad and the CIA are involved, which is possible, the size of the protests is such that it is obvious there is massive discontent. If the Mossad and the CIA are able to engineer sup protests without massive discontent among Iranians, it could only be explained if you believe most demonstrators are idiots and there is no real basis for the protests.

None of those jerks say anything negative about the regimes I memtioned. Nothing about the Uyghurs in China and the dissappearing Chinese critics of the CCP, nothing about Putin killing those opposing him, nothing critical of Cuba or Maduro’s Venezuela.

Nothing of the Iranian regime’s jamming of Starlink over Iran (by the way, it is a shame, close to treason, how Musk continues helping the CCP with continuous technology transfer to China and defending the CCP take over of Taiwan).

We all know they lie, but they lie to try to win elections or not to lose then, because politicians in the US and other democracies have too much power and that is a huge motivation to lie.

The way to do ir is by bringing to the US “the Swiss amendment”, which drastically transfers final executive and legislative authority from politicians to voters.

You see, any ordinary Swiss citizen can initiate the process to take ANY law or policy in their town, city, canton (state) or the nation to a binding referendum whose results politicians must carry out.

Examples are the level of government debt, any budget, taxation, health care, etc.

It is the Swiss political system that creates the superior prosperity and stability the Swiss people enjoy. It is a better system for ordinary people and for the wealthy.

Besides your great contribution you make wirh comments and services, you would make an even greater contribution to your lives, the life of your children and the lives of ordinary and wealthy Americans if you guys and girls took the trouble to learn the Swiss system and explain it to ordinary and wealthy Americans.

The Swiss are the only first class citizens in the world because, besides having the freedom and power to elect representatives, they have the freedom and the power to decide, by means of referendums initiated by the citizens themselves, ANY issue, any law (including the Constitution), any policy, any decision made by elected politicians or top bureacrats.

Furthermore, any citizen or group of citizebs can draft the proposal to the rest of citizens to decide the issue.

Furthermore, the politicians can not stop the process and must carry out the decision by the people.

Furthernore, the Swiss Supreme Court can not even consider a decision to see if it is “constitutional”; by definition the democratic decision by the people IS constitutional.

Furthermore, the number of signatures if registered voters required to launch a referendum is so low that the Swiss vote on referendums four times each year every year.

Furthermore, most vote from the comfort of their homes by mail.

Furthermore, they initiate referendums to decide local, cantonal (cantons are like states, provinces or autonomous regions) and also at the federal national level.

Furthermore, this final power to decide anything has made the Swiss voter directly reslobsible for what happens in his/her town, canton and the whole country.

Furthermore, the Swiss found out that when final decision making power rests on their shoulders they do not rely on the speeches (more or less contaminated by demagoguery, promises and ideological and partisan bias) of all politicians of all parties like the citizens of other countries have to. Because the Swiss voters knows they are responsible, that they can not blame politicians for the fate of their towns ( even villages), cantons and the whole country, when an issue goes to referendum interests them they take the time to inform themselves about the issue by discussing the issue with friends, familiy, colleagues at work and also by listening to experts.

As a result, the Swiss do not fall for demagogues; they do not fall for fascist, marxist, progressive or regressive demagogues.

Furrhermore, because Swiss politicians and top bureacrats at all jurisdictional levels, know that people can overrule them and can also force the politicians to put in place and policies, all Swiss politicians have learned they have to govern by being in tune with the values and concerns of voters.

Furthermore, the Swiss find that because most Swiss voters are responsible and intelligent mothers and fathers, husbands and wives, employees and employers, professionals, neighbours, citizens, drivers, etc. , it is obvious they will vote responsibly because they are directly responsible for the way any important or controversial issue is resolved.

Furrhermore, because the voters are the final authority and politicians know, respect and accept that, the Swiss people have more confidence in their politicians and governmen than anywhere else and are very satisfied with the Swiss political system.

Furthermore, the Swiss system manages lobbies better than any other.

In Switzerland, any lobby, any rich individual, any big company, any big union, any big professional association, know that it is not worth trying to control politicians or parties with big “donations” to political campaigns or by offering them very cushy corporate jobs when they retire, or millionaire book deal or hundreds of thousands of dollars for speeches, etc., because politicians just lack the power they have in other systems.

Furthermore, by drastically limiting the power of the executive and legislative branches of ALL governments, the system also drastically reduces political polarisation and division.

Furthermore, the Swiss have found out that the system forces the major political parties to work cooperatively in the legislative and the executive. Those parties represent about 80% of the electorate. This means that anything politicians decide in this cooperative manner is likely to be acceptable to the vast majority of voters on the right, left and center.

There is a lot more to the Swiss system.

What it is obvious is that it is the only real democracy because it is close to the real ancient Greek democracy. It is also obvious that what we refer to as democracies (including the US constitutional representative republic) are not democracies but elected aristocracies heavily influenced, even cobtrolled, by lobbies.

It is also obvious that the citizens of those countries are second class citizens because they vote to elect representatives but they can not directly decide any law, policy, treaty, etc., the politicians decide everything or, in some cases, the judges decide, as we see now with Trump’s tariffs.

In such countries, not only they do not have anything close to the essence of democracy, which is government by the people, what they have is government by the elected politicians OVER the people.

Such democracies have, in the best of cases, freedom of expression and free media, which the politicians, parties and lobbies tolerate but not support and even oppose and suppress if the expression of the people is contrary to the will of the politicians and “too” popular.

We can see that in the US, Canada, UK, France, Australia, Germany, etc., where people are punished in varius ways for expressing opinions. For example by blacklisting them from jobs, closing their accounts in social media and video platforms, even jailing them for their opinions, not unlike totalitarian-authoritarian regimes.

It is obvious such countries do not even respect freedom of expression like democracies are supposed to.

Then we have the authoritarian, totalitarian, dictatorial regimes run by communists, fascists or religious authorities.

The likes of China, Vietnam, Russia, North Korea, Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc., in them the people do not even have the power to decide who rules, freedom if expression or, much less the power to cancel any law or policy, or to directly order those in power to put in place a new law or policy.

In such countries the people are third class citizens, perhaps not even citizens, they are more like serfs, forced to work and be quiet, not much above working animals, even if they are rich.

It is time for others to take to the streets, peacefully but relentlessly, like the Swiss did in the 1800s, and invert the pyramid of power, putting people on top.

What is wrong with Trump? What is wrong with his team? What is wrong with US politicians?
Based on what the Trump administration is saying about Greenland, Trump has to go or change.

It is irrational to try to protect US interests by invading a peaceful country and ally.

Trump is destroying relationships with allies, even scaring them, also scare friends and neighbours like Canada and Mexico.

He is pushing ordinary Canadians, Mexicans and others to fear the US. Sure they fear China and Russia but they are too far to invade Canada and Mexico, right now, most rational Canadians and Americans, are starting to fear the US.
He is pushing all neutral and friendly countries, like Europeans and others to seek accommodation with Putin and Asians with Russia and China.

I support Trumps goal of controlling legal and illegal immigration, to expel illegals, to impose tariffs to grow American manufacturing because manufacturing is a security and survival issue.

I also support decisions to stop woke, transgenderism, etc.

Unfortunately, I think Trump has lost his mind, this is how I rationally it might have happened:

Trump was a proud man but used to negotiate, to give and take, to get deals done. He has proven that in his many real estate deals in New York, the US and even around the World but something has snapped. What he is saying and threatening to do is not normal.

That proud man had to defeat the corrupt US establishment who hates him, likely stole the 2020 election from him and tried to ruin him financially and even jail and kill him.

I am no psychologist but the stress he has had to suffer would crack most humans. Admirably, he resisted and prevailed by decisively winning the 2024 election. But that does not mean that the persecution and attempt to kill him, have not affected him.

There is a possibility his amazing survival has pushef him into believing that, somehow, he is above mortals.

On the other hand he also saw how he had to accept money from the hyper rich, like Musk and Sheldon Adelson’s widow and many others to win the election.

Then you also have the harsh reality that Trump’s Atlantic City casinos went belly up, while Adelson’s casinos in Las Vegas prospered, showing Adelson was a much better businessman than Trump.

Not only that, having to accept Adelson’s money to win the election can not be an easy emotion to digest for a proud man like Trump.

Then you have the hard reality that even having a clear mandate from the people liberal-Democrat judges and politicians oppose every single action he takes to carry out his mandate.

This shows him he can not do what the people want him to do.

Then you have the issues in which he had to eat humble pie when he saw that the lobbies, particularly the Israeli lobby and, control most politicians because they control the electoral process and control most politicians, like to some extent happened to him in 2016 and 2024.

In 2016 Adelson was the largest donor to the Trump campaign. In 2024 his widow was the second largest donor.

Musk was the largest but Musk clearly donated for patriotic reasons and was personally involved in the campaign, risking huge business consequences.

The Adelsons donated probably for patriotic reasons, because of honest political conviction to help the US, but it is also well known they are huge supporters of Israel because they are Jewish, which makes sense and as Jews want Israel to survive a safe place for Jews and even themselves and their family.

In other words, it is not illogical to believe the Adelsons are great supporters of the US but that when it cones to Israel, they expected Trump to put Israel first on issues they considered vital for Israel, even if they were contrary to what other Americans consider American interests.

Americans who might even support US military action to save Israel, but who resent that the US sends so much money to Israel when Israel is some important areas is clearly ahead of the US, like universal health care, less costly education and better pensions, not to mention infinitely lower social conflict and stress.

In other words, proud Trump had to eat humble money pie dished out by Musk, Adelson and many others.

Once in power had to bow big time to the American political lobbies; in the Middle East conflict, the Epstein files, foreign students, (including enemy Chinese students), the H1B visas, etc.

At some point, Trump realized that in the political game within the US he had to, like most other presidents and other politicians, hand over his political balls to the lobbies.

To get his balls back, at least one, Trump decided he can be tough on tariffs, even against allies, on NATO, on Venezuela (where he did the right thing), but also suggesting Canada should be part of the US and now, even threatening to invade Greenland, a territory which is part of Denmark, a US friend, a solid democracy and NATO ally.

It is obvious to me Trump has snapped.
It could be his pride just can not handle the attacks and humiliating prostration before the lobbies.

It does not look good to enhance his credibility and character to see his family involved in deals that may not be formally corrupt but stink, like his crypto coin and other business deal of his family which are related to his political power.

Himself, his wife his family can not feel very good seeing this ongoing humiliation.

There is also the possibility Trump’s brain is deteriorating; his age and his genes could be a factor here because his father developed serious cognitive decline in old age, not clear if it was dementia or other health issue.

My bottom line is that, in spite of his amazing accomplishment of surviving attacks from all sides and winning two elections, the tine has come for Trump to go or seek the counsel of his wife, children and loyal supporters and consider radically filtering what he wants to say beforehand or resign; in his current path is doing great damage to the America he loves and to Americans.

The current Democrats are the enemy within but if Trump continues this way he is politically helping them, just like the Democrats irrational statements and policies helped him.

The midterms could destroy Trump’s presidency and push the US to disaster if Congress falls into the hands of the current anti America Marxo-Democrats running the Democrat Party.
The permanent fix is the Swiss system; seven senior ministers selected by the 4 major parties in parlament (representing 80% of voters, run the country.

Further more, Swiss voters can take any law, any issue to a binding referendum and its result can not be overturned by the executive, the legislative or the highest court in the land.

The system proves, decade after decade, for more than 150 years, that when ordinary citizens directly decide, bypassing politicians and parties, they make better, more balanced and really democratic decisions.

Under “the Swiss amendment to the Constitution no longer Americans, Canadians, British, French, Danes, Germans, Japanese, etc., would be managed and controlled by politicians, parties or lobbies, or the Supreme Court

Instead, the people in cities, states, provinces and nationally decide any important or controversial issue and their decision is final until in another binding referendum years later, the people themselves overturn or modify their decision.

No more issues with the health of the top guy, no more issues with politicians not keeping promises (or bribing voters with their own money), or lobbies controlling the system.

But to bring “the Swiss Amendment”, people like Joe Rogan and many other influential and generally unbiased people on the Left and the Right, have to get of their air conditioned asses an brains and start to educate Americans to bring about “the Swiss revolution” and like Swiss, enjoy real government by the people and for the people.

Ultimately, ordinary Americans of all ideologies compatible with democracy, have to take to the streets peacefully but relentlessly until the politicians yield. The politicians, the lobbies, the Supreme Court will oppose the change because all lose a lot of power.

Would not be better if from your home, by mail, you decide 4 times per year any issue ANY group of citizens puts before you after 1% of registered voters signed up to put the issue to a final decision be the people?.

Local, state, provincial, regional issues are decide in this way by the people and the people being fully responsible for the decision; no longer blaming politicians or lobbies.

Fortunately, there is one proven way to fix our countries; turn them into real democracies. In real democracies the people have the final authority over the politicians and over any law or policy or treaty.

The Swiss did it in the 1800s; most stable, most democratic, united, etc., country in the World. In Switzerland the crypto Marxists did not achieve much because the people soon sense when the elitists go against the people and the people stop them with a people-initiated referendum on ANYTHING. In the Swiss system the crypto Marxists, the crypto Fascists, big business and all elites are held on a tight leash.

But to get the Swiss system, the ordinary people herded Into the Left or the Right by media and politicians and some lobbies, have to take to the streets united demanding final authority be transferred to them.

All this madness would have never taken place if we had real power in the hands of the common, ordinary, hard working, responsible citizens. Real power makes citizens far more responsible and wiser than elected politicians, as the Swiss clearly prove decade after decade.

You can be sure the UAU, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and others were quite happy when Israel and the US hammered Iran and most are starting to have relatively friendly relations with Israel.

Let us be realistic; Americam Sionists have too much sway over the majority of US politicians. Although they basically acquire such influence legally, it is obvious it bypasses the spirit of democracy.

Most other lobbies do the same. Do not blame them, blame the system and demand it be updated like the Swiss updated theirs when they reversed the political power pyramid; the people at the top and politicians and lobbies at the bottom.

The change automatically took care of the problem of too much power on the hands of politicians and the rich.

In fact, the wave of anti Israel and anti Sionist feelings in the US is rapidly eroding Sionist influence in the US.

I believe the day will come when accepting Sionist money will sink a political canpaign.

The Sionists have been very dumb using their influence to support Israel beyond its survival.

For whatever reason they decided to help Netanyahu pursue the goal of Greater Israel (imperial?) and the support for Israel in Gaza has turned many Americans against Israel and against American Sionists.

Unfortunately, Sionists like Larry Ellison (great businessman) do very politically stupid things; instead of telling Netanyahu: “look, we support the survival of Israel and do all we can to convince Americans to support Israel’s survival. Unfortunately, however horrible, Hamas killing 1000 innocent Jews does not endanger the survival of Israel, Hamas just lacks such power. This means that whatever actions you take against Hamas, you have to know we do not want to get involved and will do nothing to pressure US politicians to send you weapons or money for that”.

But they did not, the rest we know.

Larry Ellison buying a TV network and Tik Tok to censor and influence public opinion has the effect of turning even more Americans against Israel. It is a dumb deadly spiral because there is no way the Sionist lobby can prevail.

But Americans like Tucker Carlson, Meirsheimer, Sacks, Nicki Fuentes, David Smith, Candace Owens and many others are going overboard against Sionists and Israel, which is not an existencial threat to the US, other democracies and many other countries.

Marxism is based on the irrational idea that society is divided in two groups; capitalists and proletarians, oppressors and oppressed. In some ways is just like religion, irrationally and simplistically dividing people into “good” and “bad”, “virtuous” and “sinners”.

Reality is more complex; the same person, even the same behavious can be good in some situations and bad in others, even killing is like that.

No wonder that when irrational Marxists try to apply irrational Marxism to society it turns into an abject failure, worse even than when the Church run society and even worse than supremacist Islam.

Marxism has caused the deaths of far more humans than slavery, wars, human sacrifice in all of modern history.

Like religion, Marxism rests on the idea “revealed” to “messiah” Marx that human society is intrinsically evil. Not only that, he focused on Western Capitalist Democratic societies as the only evil.

Capitalists “exploited and oppressed” all humans in their own countries and the colonies.

The idiot was unable to see that Capitalism and all the inventions it produced; like electricity, lightbulbs, steam engine, gasoline and diesel motors, the telephone, radio, radar, airplanes, modern medicine, moderm farming, trains, cars, internet, clothes washers, refrigerators, air conditioners, rockets and orher advances have done the most to lift humans out of misery and death, and they are mostly the products of individuals with the freedom to initiate new business and with money they or other capitalists provided.

In fact, the whole World is in the process of being civilized by Capitalism and democracy.

Even China had to throw out economic Marxism and its even nuttier derivative, Maoism.

Unfortunately, the Chinese of the Mainland have not figured out yet that to achieve long term prosperity and stability the Chinese people also need freedom and democracy. The Chinese of Taiwan have figured that out.

Please, do not include progressivism with freedom and democracy.

We saw it clearly during the Biden administration and with Starmer and Trudeau. Not that conservatives are much better, at least those who still support Trump like in the day they voted for him.

Progressivism is totalitarian because it is Marxism in disguise; it pursues the Marxist goal of destroying bourgeois democracy to implant Marxism.

In fact, psychologically, Marxists are very similar to religious fanatics, as much or more than the deranged Moslem supremacists; both are convinced they have The Truth.

Judaism, Christianity share the same core but Greek thought brought about the Renaissance and the Enlightenment which obviously did not penetrate Marx’s and Engels’ thick skulls but penetrated those of European Christians and European Jews. Sadly, it has not reached most Moslems yet.

What we really need is not progressivism, we need more democracy and more capitalism, which is what the Swiss did in the 1800s.

They decided then that ordinary citizens would be the final authority over the politicians and iver any law or policy they produce.

The Swiss also decided the supreme court of the land will have no jurisdiction over political matters, that on such matters, including the constitution, the people are the final authority.

They also decided the people will exercise their suprem powers by initiating referendums and by having the Constitution mandate popular referendums, with the results of such referendums being binding and final, until another referendum changes or invalidates the results.

That is why Switzerland is the most democratic nation in the World (never mind the elitist shenanigans of the Economist, IDEA, Freedom House and others placing countries like Finland, Norway, Denmark as more democratic and freer than the Swiss people.

How can they be so if they have far less power and freedom to decide their fate? Precisely because it is more democratic, Switzerland is also the most stable.

Swiss real democracy has produced the best, most rational results, for ordinary Swiss ( highest take home pay than even in the US, Japan, all of Europe, best 100% universal health care in the World, cleanest, orderly, stable, safe, great and affordable education, etc.), but also for the rich from Switzerland and foreign rich residents, (all know Switzerland is the safest place for their money)

So, if you consider yourself progressive because you consider capitalism bad in most democracies, you are right, but the problem is most formal democracies are not such thing but elitist oligarchs, and their capitalism is fake capitalism because it is in the hands of elitist capitalists who often control the politicians.

So, if you want real democracy, real freedom and also prosperity, do not look at progressive or conservative ideology, look at the ideas and practices behind the Swiss system.

Trump is finished; it is obvious the guy of “no wars” is trying to distract with Maduro from his sustained humiliation at the hands of Netanyahu and AIPAC.

The bottom line is even less credibility for Trump among most MAGA and other Americans and more antisemitism in the US.

Only way out is for ordinary on all sides Americans to unite and demand the Swiss system of castrated piliticians and lobbies and ordinary citizens having power over them on any issue the people consider important enough for the people to decide. The current political, economic and business establishment are sinking the US economically, industrially, culturally and politically.

After almost 150 years the Swiss system delivers unmatched stability and prosperity. It is supported by ordinary people because the country is ruled by them and for them, but it is also supported by the rich and by business because ordinary people in charge create an environment which is good for business and for capital because ordinary people understand that money invested and business create the good jobs and the taxes to support the public good. The rich are also happy because they know Swiss political stability provides the safest environment for their money.

Compared to the Swiss system, the US system and other democracies are fake democracies. Of course, all dictatorships, be it China, Iran, Russia, etc., are abominations.
